RWE signs Framework Agreements for HVDC systems with Hitachi Energy and Aibel to secure capacity for future offshore wind farms

RWE Renewable Japan G.K.("RWE") and Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. submitted today to the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry a planning stage environmental consideration report and its related documents for the potential offshore wind power generation project off the coast of Shimamaki Village in Hokkaido, in accordance with the Environmental Impact Assessment Law, for comments from the Governor of Hokkaido.
The consideration report and its related documents will be available for public comments from January 15 to February 14, 2025 at the websites of relevant administrative agencies and Kansai Electric Power Co.
After soliciting comments from local residents and relevant government agencies, both companies will continue to examine the feasibility of the project while giving due consideration to environmental preservation.
