Supply chain benefits with offshore wind

Offshore wind developments are proven, significant economic opportunities for the regions in which they operate, generating supply chain benefits, direct and indirect jobs and contracts. RWE has scale and experience and is in it for the long haul – we work with partners and suppliers to facilitate the kind of innovations, cost reductions and step changes that have made RWE a world leader in the sector.

A clear example of these tangible benefits is our Murakami Tainai Offshore Wind Farm, currently in the development phase and scheduled to begin operations in 2029. This project is expected to create a significant amount of jobs in the local region and across Japan (measured in full-time equivalent person-years of employment). Moreover, it is projected to contribute positively to the Japanese economy, directly supporting regional economic growth.

Throughout the development and construction of our projects, we put our suppliers at the very heart, encouraging supply chain and economic growth, and establishing a lasting regional economic legacy in areas local to our sites.

To support this, RWE Japan will launch a dedicated Supplier Page to help Japanese suppliers register for potential contract opportunities. Until we launch the new portal, we encourage you to connect with our local procurement team and explore how you can contribute to RWE projects.

We look forward to receiving your application and working together to shape a sustainable energy future.
